Key to Lunar Eclipse Decade Tables
Fred Espenak
The following key gives detailed descriptions of each column in the Lunar Eclipse Decade Tables.
Column Heading Definition/Description 1 Calendar Calendar Date at instant of Greatest Eclipse. Date Gregorian Calendar is used for dates after 1582 Oct 15. Julian Calendar is used for dates before 1582 Oct 04. 2 TD of Dynamical Time (TD) of Greatest Eclipse, the instant Greatest when the axis of the Moon's shadow cone passes closest Eclipse to Earth's center. 3 Eclipse Eclipse Type of Total, Partial or Penumbral. Type 4 Saros Saros series number of eclipse. Series (Each eclipse in a Saros is separated by an interval of 18 years 11.3 days.) 5 Umbral Eclipse magnitude is the fraction of the Moon's Magnitude diameter obscured by Earth's umbral shadow 6 Eclipse Eclipse Duration gives the length of the partial eclipse. Duration If the eclipse is total then two durations are listed. The first is the interval between the beginning and end of the partial phases. The second value (in bold) is the duration the total phase (minutes and seconds). 7 Geographic Description of location where each eclipse is visible from. Region of Eclipse Visibility 7 Links [1] - Links to the primary page for the eclipse and contains detailed predictions and links to additional maps and data. [2] - Links to a diagram of the Moon's path trough Earth's shadows along with a map of Earth showing the regions of visibility for the eclipse. For a detailed description of the figures see: Key to Lunar Eclipse Maps.
Decade Tables of Lunar Eclipses
Each link in the following table displays a page containing 10 years of lunar eclipses. Every eclipse has links to an eclipse diagram and map of geographic visibility, and a dedicated web page for that eclipse.

Eclipse Predictions
The eclipse predictions presented here were generated using the JPL DE406 solar and lunar ephemerides. The lunar coordinates have been calculated with respect to the Moon's Center of Mass.
